DIRECTORY OF PET FRIENDLY DESTINATIONS
- Heartside Park at 301 Ionia Ave (link) is just a 5-minute walk from the hotel (go south) and features a large area to walk your furry friends. You can also find grassy areas on each end of the street near Celebration Cinema Courtyard and along Cherry Street.
- Downtown Dog Park at 210 Market Avenue SW (no website) is a relatively new facility highly, recommended by hotel staff and close to the hotel
- Hillcrest Dog Park at 1309 Lyon St (link) is a little further away but is highly rated – featuring high fences and plenty of poo bags
- Ken-O-Sha Park at 1353 Van Auken St SE (link) welcomes leashed pups to its 100+ acre park that features paved and wooded trails, a creek and picnic shelters
- Fred Meijer White Pine Trail State Park (website) is a popular 92-mile trail north of Grand Rapids. The entrance is on N Park St under the 131 overpass (head north!).
- One Twenty Three Tavern at 123 Ionia Avenue SW (link) is just north of our hotel and has a great open space with covered tables – perfect for you and your dog
- Sundance Grill and Bar at 151 Ottawa Avenue NW (link) has a pet friendly patio and is a great place for a burger, burrito and/or a beer
- Grand Rapids Garage Bar at 819 Ottawa Avenue NW (link) has room for you and your dog at one of its 12 outside tables. Watch for their PUPS AND PINTS HAPPY HOURS!
- Mitten Brewing at 527 Leonard St NW (link) allows dogs on its pet friendly patio
- Brewery Vivant at 925 Cherry St SE (link) is a craft brewery where outdoor, dog and kid friendly seating is available.
- Books and Mortar Bookshop at 966 Cherry St (link) is a very popular independent bookstore that shows up on all Grand Rapids pet friendly lists
- Fido & Stitch at 820 Monroe Avenue NW (suite 140) (link) is a great place for pet shopping and grooming. They also sponsor human/pet events such as the PUPS AND PINTS HAPPY HOUR w/ the Garage Bar.
- Animal Emergency Hospital of Grand Rapids at 3260 Plainfield Avenue NW (website) is open 24 hours if you need them. Call them at (616) 361-9911
